With the help of a homemade universal hammer from an ordinary plumbing tee, you can perform a variety of operations in the home workshop. The whole thing is that one of his strikers is wooden, and the second is made of a polyurethane rod, which lends itself well to turning and drilling.

A steel pipe of suitable diameter is used as a handle. However, you can also make a wooden or plastic handle - from a polypropylene pipe. As for the polyurethane rod, it is better to use class A rods with a hardness of at least 90 Shore.

From a round polyurethane blank we cut a piece of suitable length, taking into account processing in a lathe. We grind part of the workpiece under the inner diameter of the tee, and cut the thread. We carefully screw the polyurethane hammer into the plumbing (brass or steel) tee.

The manufacturing process of the universal hammer

At the next stage, we make a wooden hammer. We do everything exactly, as with the polyurethane blank. We cut the thread using a die of a suitable size. Maple, beech, oak, hornbeam or birch can be used as starting material.

The wooden striker can be painted with varnish or stain. Then it remains only to make a handle for the hammer. Cut a piece of steel pipe that is suitable for the length, cut the thread at the end and screw it into a tee.
