Spring-loaded car clamps are widely used to reliably connect hoses and fittings that are subject to extreme temperatures.
Moreover, to remove and install the spring clamps, you need a special tool. But not every car owner buys it. Firstly, the price is not small. And, secondly, it is not used so often.
You can try to remove the small spring clamps with pliers. However, when installing in the same way, there is always a risk of injury. Pliers cannot handle large clamps.
In this review, the author shows a simple way how to remove the spring automobile clamps without a special tool. And this will require ordinary plumbing pliers. In fact, you just need to modify the factory tool a bit.
The main stages of work
We clamp the pliers in a vice, and then with the help of a triangular file we make indentations on the inside of the clamping jaws.
As a result, small “grooves” should appear on the lips of ticks, such as in the photo below.
Here, in fact, is the whole revision. Now, with this tool, you can remove and install automotive spring clamps of different diameters.
