Of the 2 transformers from the old microwave oven, you can do it yourself do-it-yourself adaptation for the home workshop and garage - spot welding.

Contact spot welding makes it possible to work with a wide variety of metals and their alloys, which makes it universal in domestic use.

The first step is to dismantle the transformers from the microwave housing. After that, it will be necessary to carefully remove the "native" secondary winding without damaging the primary.

The easiest way to "remove" the secondary winding "painlessly" is to cut the protruding turns with a grinder.

After that, using an electric drill, you need to drill a hole inside the transformer and pull out the remaining wiring out with narrow pliers.

The main stages of work

After we removed the secondary winding from the transformer, we remove all unnecessary, including metal spacers. Only the secondary winding should remain.

The same operation will need to be done with the second transformer. Then the master welds both transformers together.

Instead of secondary winding on two transformers, the author uses a thick multicore cable, which is designed for the welding machine. It is enough to make only two turns. Secondary windings are connected in parallel.

As the base, a piece of channel 160 mm wide is used. It is necessary to drill a pair of holes with a diameter of 8 mm in it, then we screw the perforated profile. Also, two angles with holes must be welded to the channel.

Next, cut another piece of the perforated profile and weld the sleeve to it. Then we fix it between two corners. Between profiles, the author sets a spring.

Four holes must be drilled into the base. Then we install transformers, having previously connected in parallel two primary windings. We do everything the same way as with the secondary ones.

To the upper transformer you need to glue a wooden cube or block to which we fasten the switch. A power supply wire will be connected to it.

At the last stage, it remains only to sharpen the ends of the copper bolts, giving them a conical shape. The bolts are inserted into the holes of the aluminum cable lugs and fixed on the inside of the perforated profiles.
