In this review, the author shows how to install a pole on a summer cottage or in the territory of a private house with your own hands.
The technology is quite simple and accessible to everyone. Moreover, the pole installed in this way will stand for a very long time.
First of all, we determine the place where the pillar will have to stand. Using a homemade or purchased hand drill, we make a hole in the ground with the desired diameter and suitable depth.
We recommend you to familiarize yourself: making a mini garden electric drill with your own hands.
The main stages of work
Cut off a piece of metal pipe of the desired length. In the lower part, cut out the "window" of a rectangular shape.
You can also simply weld two corner pieces or fittings perpendicular to the pipe. We install the pipe in the center of the hole.
We recommend reading: how to get a concrete pillar out of the ground with bare hands.
At the next stage, we mix cement-sand mortar in a ratio of 1: 3.
You can knead in a concrete mixer if there are a lot of posts, or you can manually, directly in a bucket or trough. The author makes the solution rather liquid.
First, the author pours the solution into the hole, and then adds a little crushed stone, and makes concrete right on the spot, while compacting the mixture well.
If there is a concrete mixer, then this is not necessary.
Then, the author puts on a piece of PVC pipe on a metal pipe, slightly recessing it into concrete. The upper edge of the pipe should be 8-10 cm above the ground.
Next, fill the entire hole to the top with crushed stone mixed with sand.
Then it will be necessary to fill the space between the plastic and metal pipes with concrete.
After the concrete hardens (after 24 hours), it will be necessary to pour concrete and the metal pipe itself. Such a pillar will stand for several decades.
