In this review, the author shows how to make simple sheaths for a knife from leatherette with your own hands. If desired, you can use genuine leather.
To work with leatherette you will need a standard set of tools that is traditionally used to work with the skin.
The first step is to cut out the sheath template from a sheet of paper. Based on this template, the author cuts a blank from a piece of leatherette.
The main stages of work
In the center of the workpiece, the author makes a selection so that you can then fold it in half.
Further to one of the sides you need to glue a piece of strip. This liner will protect the case from inside cuts.
At the next stage, the author cuts another piece of the leatherette strip and makes a loop out of it for fixing the sheath on the belt.
Glue the edges of the strip, then punch holes (if there is no special punch, you can do with an awl) and sew it to the cover.
After that, glue the edges of the scabbard, punch holes and stitch with nylon thread.
