Using inexpensive affordable materials, you can make your own hands a very stylish exclusive jewelry, which will be a worthy alternative to expensive precious metal products. For the manufacture of such a ring, a 0.5-1 cm thick solid wood panel, an epoxy resin with a hardener, and a sheet of gold foil (the so-called gold leaf) will be required.

It is best to use dark wood (for example, wenge, stained hornbeam, ebony, etc.), as it blends perfectly with gilding. However, if desired, the ring can be made from ordinary light wood - it will also look very unusual. Gold foil can be ordered online or purchased at a store. It is used for decorating the interior and making souvenirs.

Golden ring made of wood: stages of work

The wooden plank must be sized and cut from two sides, then carefully broken. Not to cut off completely, but to break - so that the edges are "torn". Then we put glue on the end part of the workpiece and glue the foil. As a result, at the end of the strap should be golden sparkles. If you make several rings, do the same with other blanks.

At the next stage, we wrap the wooden rail in flexible plastic, and then fill it with epoxy diluted with a hardener. After the epoxy is dried, the workpiece is processed on a grinding machine, cut to size and drilled in the center of a hole of a suitable diameter (for the size of a finger).

After finishing grinding and polishing the surface, we cover the finished product with mineral oil or colorless varnish. The detailed process of making the “golden” ring from wood and epoxy can be seen in the video on the website.
