Sometimes it is not possible to buy or cannot find a wheel for an emery machine with a suitable diameter of the central hole. However, instead there is another circle at hand, with a large hole. And a completely logical question arises: "Is it possible to fit such a stone under emery?"

This can be done, but after some refinement. So, imagine this situation: for example, the diameter of the emery-machine's engine shaft is 13-14 mm, and a stone with a central hole of 35-37 mm in diameter (or another size) must be planted on it.

There is a simple "grandfather" way of how to fit a stone with any center on emery with minimal runout at home. And for this it will be necessary to make a sleeve of plywood or wood. Please note that it is advisable to use homemade gaskets made of cardboard or paronite under the flanges.

The process of "fitting" stone for an emery machine

Using a jigsaw or in another way, first cut the circle of the desired diameter from plywood or board. Then we drill in the center a hole for the diameter of the emery motor shaft (in this case, it is 13 mm).

After that, you will need to grind the outer diameter of the sleeve under the inner diameter of the central hole of the abrasive stone. After turning the sleeve, we grind the outer surface of the part with sandpaper.

After that, we install an abrasive stone with a wooden bushing on the engine shaft of the emery machine, and you can begin to work. For more information on how to fit a stone with any center on emery, see the video on the site.
