If you often have to work with wood blanks in the home workshop, then a jigsaw machine will definitely not be superfluous. Moreover, it can be made independently from an old jigsaw and pieces of plywood. Jigsaw, of course, must be a worker.
A home-made jigsaw machine will be especially useful in cases where you need to cut some curly elements and details from wood or plywood. This will turn out faster and will be much more convenient than cutting with a conventional jigsaw.
First of all, the master cuts out blanks of the desired shape from plywood, and then fastens them together. The result should be a frame, as in the photo below. Then proceed to the next step.
The process of making a jigsaw machine
Further, from the plywood sheet with a thickness of about 18-20 mm, it will be necessary to cut out the working surface, which has an elongated trapezoidal shape. Under it will be a jigsaw itself.
In the countertop you need to make a hole for the file. For this, the master uses a crown on wood. The operation itself is performed on a drilling machine.
After that, the jigsaw itself is attached to the working surface from below. Then the table will need to be fixed on a previously made frame.
At the last stage, a “shoulder” is made of plywood, at the end of which a jigsaw tension device will be fixed. By the way, the file itself will need to be slightly modified. Then it remains only to collect everything, and you can work.
