In this review, the author shares the idea of how to make a honey extract with your own hands. Using this homemade product, you can get honey by centrifugation.
For the production of honey separators, two plates of food stainless steel 360 mm long and 50 mm wide will be required.
The author uses a stainless steel tube as a shaft. You will also need to prepare two bushings of suitable diameter, which would be worn on the shaft.
First of all, in each of the metal plates, you need to drill three holes (along the edges and in the middle) using a crown.
The main stages of work
At the next stage of work, we insert previously prepared bushings from a thick-walled stainless pipe into the central holes drilled in the plates, and then weld.
Then a through hole must be drilled in each sleeve. Next, we put the plates on the shaft, departing from the edges by 10-15 cm, drill holes in the tube, and then fix the bushings with pins. The distance between the plates is determined by the size of the frames with honeycombs.
The author grinds an adapter from a piece of stainless steel on a lathe, with which you can insert the shaft into the chuck of an electric drill.
The manufactured adapter is inserted into a stainless pipe (shaft) and welded. The result is a shank. At the other end of the tube, the author does the same.
Next, you need to cut off the wooden block and drill a hole in it in the center into which the shaft will be inserted.
Set the bar to the bottom of the tank (barrel), and then install the resulting design.
After that, between the plates we vertically fasten two wooden frames with honeycombs, and the homemade product is ready. All that remains is to insert the shaft end into the drill chuck.
