It is difficult to imagine a home workshop without a carpentry vice, since you have to work with wood almost constantly.

You can buy a bench vice, or you can make it yourself. In this case, not only save money, but also get some experience.

The first step is to cut off a piece of the corner of the right size. In the center we drill a hole with a diameter of 25 mm - under the lead screw, at the edges - two holes with a diameter of 10 mm.

After that, the author cuts a blank of the required shape from the corner. The edges will need to be cleaned with a grinder or using a grinder (grinder).

The main stages of work

At the next stage, the master cuts the lead screw of the required length from the M24 threaded rod, to the end of which the plumbing tee is welded by ¾.

Next, insert the lead screw into the previously drilled hole in the metal plate (plate) and fix it with a nut.

After that, the author cuts two pieces of the M10 threaded rod, which will be used as guides. They are inside pipes with a diameter of 20 mm.

Then, from the nuts and a piece of the strip, it will be necessary to make a guide for the lead screw. The author puts on sleeves on the side guides and fixes them using plywood parts.

At the last stage, clamping jaws will need to be made from pieces of plywood. Then the master makes a knob from a wooden handle.
