A simple and powerful fire extinguisher foam generator

Cheap home minisinks for a car have an insufficiently effective foam nozzle. As a result, even a good non-contact foam copes poorly with dirt. You can improve the quality of cleaning the machine by using a homemade foam generator. He copes with stubborn dirt, which is then easily washed off with a minimum wash.

Materials:

• housing from an old powder fire extinguisher with a neck and a cover;
• 1/2 inch steel pipe
• a piece of rubber from the seal chamber;
• garden hose;
• tip for a garden hose;
• 1/2 inch ball valve;
• quick connector adapter to the compressor M1 / ​​2 inches;
• fumlenta.

Homemade foam generator device

The foam generator is made on meringue with a powder fire extinguisher or an old manual steel spray gun. You can use another metal container for 8-10 liters. It must be equipped with a neck with a cap on the thread and a rubber seal.
A hole for a 15 mm tube is made at the top in the end of the tank. It will be used to exit the foam. A short length of 7-10 cm pipe is welded into it. A thread is cut on it to secure the adapter to the garden hose.
A hole under the tube is drilled at the side of the bottom of the cylinder. It will be used to supply air. A plugged pipe with side openings is inserted into it.
Enough 10 holes drilled in a row with a 2 mm drill. The tube is welded so that they look up. Next, a thread is cut on it to secure the ball valve. A fitting for the compressor hose is screwed onto it. All threads are pre-sealed with fumlent or other means.

How to use

About half of the water is poured into the foam generator. Car shampoo for contactless washing is added to it. The tank closes with a lid. A compressor is connected to the bottom adapter.
A garden hose is connected to the top fitting.

After turning on the compressor and opening the ball valve, the supplied air mixes the water, creating foam.
She rises up the tank and after filling it moves along the garden hose, splashing onto the car.
A foam generator of this design works much better than many standard minimax nozzles. He makes a thick foam, which when using a normal shampoo allows you to wash even a very dirty machine with minimal time and effort.
In the end, we wash everything off with water from a pressure washer or from a garden hose under normal pressure.
