The military bayonet-knife for the legendary AK-74 entered service in the 60s of the last century and since then remains a reliable assistant to the soldier, not only in the Russian army. At the same time, not everyone, even those who served and went on guard, knows what a bayonet-knife is capable of except for its main purpose - to deliver stabbing and cutting attacks in hand-to-hand combat with the enemy.

Hammer, saw and scissors

The bayonet is inserted into the scabbard with a cross ring, which act as an improvised handle of the hammer. Hitting the back of a knife allows you to hammer a nail, chop nuts, etc.

A sawtooth-shaped sharpening is applied on the butt, with which you can cut steel rods.
Using a T-shaped protrusion in the lower part of the scabbard and a rectangular hole in the blade of the knife, both of these elements can be connected into one tool - scissors.

With their help, you can bite the wire fences, including those under tension - the sheath and handle of the knife are made of durable dielectric material that does not conduct current.

Mouthpiece, ignition grater and chair

This function will be appreciated only by those soldiers who remained on guard without cigarettes. You can insert a cigarette without a filter (cigarette butt) into the hole for the strap, from the side of the lock button, and, making puffs from the opposite side, completely smoke all the tobacco! At the same time, the metal cools the smoke and smokers do not burn lips.

At the bottom of the scabbard there is a section of plastic with a direct cut, about which you can light any match (a feature of the material).

When this place is overwritten, the roughness of the fibers can be restored with the help of a serreitor (saw) knife.

In the case when there are no matches and lighters, but fire is necessary, the bayonet-knife will help out in this situation. It is necessary to fluff a small piece of rags (a cloth for cleaning weapons, footcloths, etc., but you can also dry grass) and hook it on the hook for the fixing belt.

Set the knife with the handle on the ground, inserting the blade into the technological hole on the sheath - it will be easier to keep it in a vertical position.

With the help of any mineral stone (it must be found), strikes are made on the serreitor sharpening of the knife. Sparks carved in this way ignite a rag.

Torch and spear

There is a latch inside the scabbard, which must be removed and put on the lower metal tab.

A fabric impregnated with a combustible substance is wound around the clamping springs and set on fire. The resulting torch does not burn hands and allows you to navigate in a dark space.

Using a straight stick of suitable cross section, you can turn a bayonet-knife into a throwing spear. The end of the stick is sharpened under the muzzle ring.

The knife is put on a prepared seat and with the help of a carbine, on which the sheath hangs on the belt (trenchik), is rigidly fixed on an impromptu shaft.

To prevent the mount from slipping off, make a small cut under it. On the side of the knife handle, the release button performs the same function. With such an arsenal you can even go for a wild boar.

To summarize

This is how an ordinary bayonet-knife with soldier ingenuity can be useful to the owner, solving, at first glance, completely unusual tasks for him.
