A very quick way to sharpen an old or new handsaw with a tool like a grinder (angle grinder). You will need only 5-10 minutes for all the teeth of your hacksaw to acquire pristine sharpness. This sharpening technique is designed exclusively for experienced users, those who are not the first day working with a grinder.

Sharpening a grinder

The first thing you need is to hold the saw well. It is better to use two clamps at the edges. With any manipulation, the canvas should not "play", and even more so should be shifted to the side.
It is desirable to clamp the canvas horizontally, parallel to the plane of the workbench.

The saw is old, this is how the initial teeth look like. They are sawing accordingly as badly.

On the grinder we establish a circle, if possible, with fine grain. We start the tool and sharpen each tooth at an angle of one side. First we sharpen one side of the tooth, then go back and sharpen the other side of the tooth.

Turn the blade over and sharpen the other side of the saw.
This is how the canvas looks after sharpening.

We check in real conditions - we are sawing a tree.

Sawing fine.

The cut is smooth, the cut structure does not deteriorate - everything is smooth.

If the saw is clamped while sawing, then the tooth alignment should be checked. The wiring thickness must be at least two thicknesses of the hacksaw blade.
In general, it took about 5 minutes to sharpen the saw. With preparation no more than 10.
Do not forget about safety when working with a hand-held electric tool. A grinder is a particularly dangerous tool with which you need to be especially careful.
If you do not have sufficient experience when working with angle grinders, then I recommend that you abandon this technique.
