Automotive plastic headlights may turn yellow or cloud over time (burn out). In addition to the fact that such headlights have an unpresentable appearance, they are also not able to provide the desired level of lighting in the dark.

In this review, the author shares a simple, but effective way, how to independently restore the burned out plastic headlights on a car in just 5-10 minutes.

If the dull or yellowed headlights are simply polished, then after a while they will still dim. Therefore, the best option in this situation is to first sandpaper with sandpaper, and then varnish.

The main stages of work

First of all, the plastic headlight will need to be sanded with sandpaper. The surface should become even and uniform. For convenience, the headlight can be removed.

Please note that for starting grinding it is better to use P400 sandpaper, and for finishing - P800. If sanding with P1000 or P2000 sandpaper, adhesion to the varnish will be worse. Finishing is done with water.

After polishing, the headlight surface must be thoroughly washed with shampoo water, then wiped with disposable napkins and dried using a household hair dryer or in the natural way (if time permits).

At the last stage, the headlight of the car needs to be degreased, and then covered with several layers of varnish. To do this, you can use a gun or varnish in spray cans.

The result speaks for itself - the plastic headlight of a car becomes like new. Moreover, with minimal time and resources. So take note of this method.
