How nice to get into a warm car and immediately start moving. The electric engine heater was invented back in 1949, it was a heating element that is built directly into the cylinder block. Later, many cars from the factory began to equip this option. We realize pre-start heating on our own, consider installing a flow heater on a car.

Principle of operation

Due to the temperature difference in the cooling system, circulation is created, therefore, the circuit is uniformly heated. Modern appliances are equipped with a pump, a temperature controller and a valve that directs the flow of coolant correctly. If the heater does not contain a pump, then it should be placed at the lowest point of the cooling system. Installation is made taking into account the specifics of the cooling system of a particular car.

By design, the heaters are horizontal and vertical versions. Vertical ones are designed for cars with a tight layout of the engine compartment, while horizontal ones are considered safer because they prevent the ingress of coolant into the electrical part.

Installing the Longfei Pump Warmer

  • According to the manufacturer's recommendation, the heater is installed from the unit to the stove, in the direction of circulation of the coolant. If the heater is placed in the cut of the supply hose, then the car interior heats up faster, if in the cut of the “return” hose, the engine block is heated first.
  • You can determine the supply hose on a warm car with the stove turned on to the maximum, it will be noticeably hotter than the return.
  • The direction of fluid flow through the heater is marked by an arrow on the body.

Difficulties can arise when joining hoses and fittings of different diameters, since there are many inexpensive adapters in auto parts stores. Do not bend hoses or raise them above the cooling circuit to prevent air locks.
