Humanity makes no attempt to build a perpetual motion machine each time moving further and further in this direction. But any engine stops sooner or later thanks to the laws of physics. Craftsmen, having received powerful magnets at their disposal, come up with closed motion systems, but to no avail.

What laws of physics do not allow creating a perpetual motion machine? How far has humanity progressed in resolving this issue?
