Using this homemade nozzle, grinding various wooden and metal surfaces will be much easier and more convenient, and the work itself will take less time than if you perform similar operations manually. In addition to grinding workpieces, with the help of a grinding nozzle, you can also grind the working parts of the garden tool.

An ordinary small grinder is used as an electric drive, and for the manufacture of the nozzle itself, simple and affordable materials will be needed, which can be found in the garage and workshop (or buy inexpensively on the market).

How to make a grinding nozzle

First, from a plate with a length of 18 mm and a width of 3 mm, we make a steel clamp for fixing on the inside of the metal casing of angle grinders. To bend the plate, you can use a conventional vice or a special bending machine.

Then we cut off the excess part of the plate and drill a hole with a diameter of 5 mm in the clamp, then we cut the thread with an M6 tap and tighten a screw of a suitable diameter. You will also need to drill two more holes with a drill with a diameter of 3 mm and cut the thread in them with an M4 taps.

Using a small plate with holes, we connect the clamp to a piece of a profile rectangular pipe with sides of 3x2 cm and a length of 14.5 cm. Inside the pipe, first insert a short wooden block and two springs, and then a long block, on the edge of which four bearings are fixed.

The assembly process of the entire structure

First of all, we attach the nozzle body (a clamp with a profile pipe), and then we install a driving “wheel” made of two round billets of plywood on the working shaft of the angle grinder. We put on the sanding belt of the desired width and you can begin to work. The main stages of assembly of the structure, see the video on our website.
