In this article we will tell you how to make a miniature hunting knife that can be presented as an original souvenir from an ordinary trapezoidal interchangeable blade from a clerical knife - any man will appreciate this gift made by himself.

The first step is to draw a freehand template on paper (or download it from the Internet), and then transfer the drawing to the surface of the clerical knife blade.

Then it is necessary to grind the unnecessary part of the blade, and cut the contours of the knife with a drill - the work is jewelry, so it makes no sense to use a grinder. When the workpiece is cut, remove the previously pasted paper template and proceed to sanding the product.

Work sequence

We heat the workpiece red-hot (you can use a gas spray), after which we form the cutting edge of the knife and proceed to sharpening. Two holes will need to be drilled in the tail of the knife.

Then, from a wooden blank (beech, oak or other), we cut out two halves of the handle, grind it by hand and glue it to the knife shank. As a connection of wooden handles, we use rivets from a steel rod of a suitable diameter.

Next, we process them with a file, giving the desired shape. At the last stage of the work, we finish grinding and coat the handle with varnish or mineral oil. The process of making a miniature hunting knife, see the video on our website.
