This home-made stand made of a clamp is useful primarily for those who prefer to work with a semiautomatic device. By attaching it to a table or workbench, you do not have to spend time looking for free space among different trash to arrange a welding holder.

This will be especially convenient when performing large volumes of work. For this homemade product you will need an old F-shaped clamp, in which you need to cut off the upper part with a grinder. Clamp in a vice and cut.

Instead, a piece of steel plate 5-6 mm thick and about 15-20 cm long is welded.

Please note that in this case, the lower part of the clamp with the clamping screw acts as a fastening of the stand itself to the side of the table.

The main stages of work

Two identical pieces are cut from a metal strip in which we drill a through hole, and then we cut out a U-shaped slot with a grinder. Cut edges must be finished with a round file to remove burrs.

Using an electric file, we make beveled corners along the edges of the hole. At the next stage of work, two parts with a U-shaped notch are welded to the upper plate (one at a right angle, the other at 45 degrees). Then the finished stand will only have to be painted with spray paint.

The stand is attached to a table or other surface, after which it is fixed with a clamping screw. Now the welding holder will always be at hand. If something is not clear, watch the video in which you can clearly see how to make such a stand.
