To make decorative clay pots for home flowers or other plants with your own hands, you will need practically no skills. Even a child can cope with this task, and the source material - clay is not necessary even to buy, since it can always be collected in nature.

The main stages of work

The first step is to soak the clay collected in the forest in water and stir it until smooth, then strain through a sieve to filter out the garbage. Then, using a glass or bucket, you need to scoop out water from a bucket - clay slurry should remain at the bottom.

We spread this gruel on a plastic bag or film with a layer of about 2-3 cm. After the clay dries a little, we turn the clay layer into a roll, put it in a bag, moistened with water - in this form the clay can be stored until processing.

Further, for forming flower pots, you need a potter’s wheel, which is easy to make with your own hands from available materials. Knead the clay well, shape the ball, throw it on the potter’s wheel and begin to create small masterpieces. Pots can be given any shape - which you like more.

Finished products must be dried first in the sun or in the oven, and then still burned in a fire to make them more durable. For a detailed process on how to make clay flower pots at home, see the video on the website.
