For this homemade product, profile square tubes with a wall thickness of about 5-6 mm will be required. You will also need a stud with nuts and a knob, which can be made of a bolt or smooth fittings of a suitable diameter. To work, you will need a welding machine (inverter type or semi-automatic) and an angle grinder.

Vise manufacturing process

First of all, we make the fixed part, which consists of a square steel plate with holes for attaching to the table, a profile pipe guide with a nut and a clamping sponge made of a smaller profile. All these elements are connected to each other by welding.

At the next stage of work, we begin to manufacture the movable part of the home-made vice with a screw and a screw. To do this, we also use two sections of the profile pipe, and in one of them, which will move along the guide profile, you need to make a longitudinal cut with a grinder.

The screw can be made from a stud with a suitable diameter, at the end of which a nut must be welded to secure the knob. After both parts have been welded (movable and fixed), we clean them with a grinder and paint them. Then it remains only to collect the vice, and then screw them to a workbench or table.

The process of assembling homemade vice from a thick-walled profile can be seen in the video on our website.
