To make a homemade miniature blacksmith anvil, you will need a billet of copper with a cross section of 10x10 cm and a length of about 15 cm. If there is no copper at hand, you can use a more budgetary material - for example, aluminum.

First of all, it is necessary to cut out the paper template of the blacksmith anvil (can be downloaded from the Internet), attach it to the blank and draw a marker around the contours. Then we drill holes on the sides of the picture - in places where there should be radius curves.

The main stages of work

After preparation, we proceed to the machining of the copper billet. To begin with, it will be necessary to trim the base from the front side, we sharpen the front part, and in the area of the bridge between the base with “paws” and the anvil we make rounded notches.

Then we take a hacksaw with a saw blade for metal and cut off all the excess. Using a file and a drill with a nozzle for grinding, we give the workpiece the correct geometry and clear shapes.

In the lower part of the miniature anvil, using a hacksaw and a file for metal, we make semicircular cuts between the "paws". After that, we grind and polish the surface well. At the last stage of the work, it remains only to make a wooden "deck" on which the blacksmith's anvil will stand.

Finishing touch

To do this, take a wooden block of suitable sizes (or glue it from battens), grind and cover with stain or varnish. Then we make decorative metal hoops. In the center, drill a hole and screw in the threaded sleeve.

At the base of the anvil (on the inside), we also drill a blind hole in the center and screw the pin. After that we connect the wooden deck with the anvil.
