A cigarette lighter (or as it is also called in common people - a smoker) is used by beekeepers who have a home apiary to soothe "rebellious" bees. Under the influence of the “aromatic” haze, the bees eat up honey, after which they become absolutely safe, since they cannot sting with full belly.

The main function of a factory and homemade cigarette lighter is to generate the required amount of smoke, which is formed as a result of decay of various types of fuel (dry needles, mushroom, burlap, etc.). Due to the presence of a "nose", the beekeeper has the ability to accurately direct the stream of smoke at the bee colony.

A simple homemade cigarette lighter consists of a cylindrical body (made of stainless steel), which has a cone-shaped lid. Another important element of the device is the fur - a device for pumping air. To make a smoker you will need a metal bucket of paint, stainless steel and other materials.

The main stages of work

The first step is to make two through holes: one in the lid, the second in the container (at the bottom). Then we cut out a piece of a suitable shape from the stainless steel sheet so that it can be "twisted" into a cone. Insert a piece of tube into the bottom of the bucket (can be made from a piece of stainless steel).

From two planks of plywood, a furniture loop and leather (or leatherette) we assemble a device for pumping air. First, we connect the workpieces to each other with loops, and then we attach pieces of leather to the edge with the help of hot glue.
