There are special requirements for the bathroom in a private house or apartment, due to the fact that this room has its own separate microclimate.

Therefore, when carrying out a major overhaul in the toilet or bathroom (or during redevelopment), it is necessary to correctly perform waterproofing on the floor and walls.

Properly made waterproofing will provide protection from high humidity, and will also minimize the effects of leaks in water pipes.

For high-quality waterproofing, you need to use high-quality materials. In this case, the author decided to opt for products from the Ceresit trademark, which has already been tested by time and is of high quality.

The following materials will be required for waterproofing in the home bathroom: elastic mastic CL 51, special tape CL 152, primer CT 17. Directly to complete the work itself, you will need several brushes, an office knife and a pair of spatulas.

High-quality waterproofing of the floor and walls in the apartment and house

The process of waterproofing the floor in the bathroom consists of several main stages. The first step is to remove all debris on the floor and remove dust from the surface. Then a layer of soil is applied.

At the next stage of work, the installation of waterproofing tape in all internal corners (at the junction of the wall to the wall, and also the wall to the floor).

After that, the first layer of waterproofing elastic mastic is applied. And after drying - the second layer, but only in the perpendicular direction.

The waterproofing of the walls is carried out according to the same principle - in several stages: dust removal, priming, mounting the tape at the junctions and applying two-layer elastic mastic to the surface.
