For those who constantly manufacture various metal parts, such a homemade product is definitely useful. With the help of a matrix and a punch, it will be possible to bend a strip, a plate, a square bar and other products of ferrous metal at an angle of 90 degrees.
To make a homemade matrix and punch, you will need a piece of thick metal with a thickness of about 10-12 mm, two pieces of a corner, a couple of pieces of a round pipe and two blanks from a profile pipe of rectangular cross section.
The main stages of work
The first step is to cut a rectangular plate from a thick piece of metal. On one of its sides, you need to use a grinder to make a wedge-shaped bevel. This will be the punch.
Then, from the round pipe, the author cuts off two blanks that need to be welded along the edges of the plate. Welds will need to be cleaned with a grinder.
At the next stage, the author proceeds to the manufacture of a matrix - for this he uses two pieces of a profile pipe and two pieces of a building corner. All blanks must be welded together.
In the end, it remains only to weld along the edges of the matrix two guides from segments of a round bar. Two springs are then put on them, and then the punch itself.
