The tendency to give new life to old things is gaining more and more popularity. Updating and redesigning outdated furniture is not only a great way to save money, but also the opportunity to create unique interior items.

In this review, the author offers an original idea of how to beautifully design old bedside tables in a natural style.

First you need to check if the nightstand is intact. Nail the bottom of the drawers harder, make sure that the sliding mechanism works without jamming.

Now we need to cut off all the protruding parts so that we face a simple geometric shape.

The next step is to carefully sand the entire surface of the cabinets. Especially worth a try if you are working with a varnish surface.

The main stages of work

After that, you can paint the furniture with matte black paint. It will be more convenient to use a roller, not a brush. It will be necessary to color all the internal elements.

To decorate the nightstand you will need round straight trunks and branches with bark. Cut them to the size of the walls and cut them in half.

Now the planer needs to align the edges of the saw cuts so that they fit snugly against each other. From the remaining tree, cut the saw cuts 1.8 mm thick.

It's time to start finishing. With a clerical knife, cut off the bark from a long die and drill holes in these places.

Now it can be attached with screws to the bedside table below. And to hide the attachment points, glue the cut bark back.

For the rest of the dies, just apply black glue-sealant. Next, go to the boxes. We will decorate them with round saw cuts, also put on sealant.

Attach the saws from the edges so that they extend the side dies, creating the effect of round bars. Make pens out of thin trunks. You can cut a recess in them to make it easier to open.

When laying the countertop, fill the voids between the cuts with sealant. Let it dry, and then grind the top coat until there are clean wood saw cuts.

This is necessary so that no debris or small things get into the cracks. In the final, you need to cover the wood with wood stain or varnish.

The work is over. Such original eco-style bedside tables will fit perfectly into the interior of a country house.
