In this review, the author decided to conduct an experiment. The goal is to understand where the Bulgarian will fly when biting a disk, if you cut metal with sparks on yourself and on your own.

Especially for this experiment, the author made a small test "training ground" on the table.

The author uses a makeshift stand for the grinder to keep it horizontal while working.

You will also need a bench vise, the jaws of which will imitate the clamping of the disc.

And here is the main “hero” of this experiment - a Bulgarian with a power of 1300 W, with a cutting wheel with a diameter of 180 mm.

Experiment progress

Install the grinder, resting it on a stand. The disc itself is located between the lips of a bench vise.

Additionally, the author attaches safety ropes to the grinder - so that it does not fly away in an unknown direction when biting the disk.

The author wraps the case of the Bulgarian with masking tape - he will imitate holding the angle grinder in his hands.

After completing the preparatory work, you can begin to conduct the experiment itself.

It does not make sense to describe the whole process - you can see everything on the video. But let's just say that if you cut the metal with sparks on yourself, then when biting the disk, the angle grinder tends to break ahead.

And, on the contrary, if you cut metal with sparks from yourself, then the angle grinder, having escaped from your hands, flies back - towards the cutter, and this can be very dangerous.
