There are many varieties of batik (cold, hot, nodular, etc.). Many of the methods are very time-consuming, time-consuming, require professional skills.
Today is a very simple and affordable workshop. It turns out an excellent result without much effort and without laborious manipulations: boiling the fabric, steaming it over steam and so on. This method will be mastered by any of the caring people who are ready to create, to go for experiments. Batik will become your favorite hobby.
To make a picture you will need special paints, a special contour and a special thinner for the paint. All this is sold in specialized stores and the label indicates the purpose. You will also need brushes, fabric, stretcher, buttons. In order to dilute the paint, as well as to collect it with a brush before applying it to the fabric, it is convenient to use a container for freezing ice (for cocktails).

The fabric for batik should only be natural. In our master class it will be an atlas. Before you begin to paint a picture, you need to wet the fabric in warm water, hold there for some time. Then dry and iron. This is done so that the fabric can easily be pulled on a stretcher. In addition, it should be borne in mind that natural fabrics shrink and your picture may become smaller in size after subsequent washing.

Then we fix the fabric with buttons on the subframe.

Choose your favorite picture. Beginners should start with flowers: they look aesthetically pleasing and it's not difficult to draw them. You can take a drawing on a postcard as a sample, or you can show your own imagination. You can draw with a pencil. If you are confident in the firmness of your hand, then immediately take the outline, bolder and you will succeed!
After the contour has dried out well, take a brush and paints and apply paints to the area of the drawing, without leaving the contour. In this way, the paint will not spread over the fabric.

After the paint has dried out well (and the drying time is indicated on the label), you remove the fabric from the subframe and carefully iron it from the inside out.
That's all!

With this method, you do not need to boil the fabric or steam over steam. If necessary, the picture can be safely washed in warm water with soap, dried and ironed. This is especially important if you are painting sofa cushions that need frequent washing.
You got a great picture!
Good luck, novice artist!
